The Commander of the UAE Air Force, Ibrahim Al-Alawi, arrived in Israel, on a visit during which he will be briefed on the largest air maneuvers it has conducted in Tel Aviv history.
Israel will host air maneuvers called “Blue Flag”, which started on Sunday and will continue until next Thursday, with the participation of 7 countries: the United States, Germany, Italy, Britain, France, India and Greece.
While the UAE, Romania, Finland, South Korea, Australia, Japan, the Netherlands and Croatia will participate as observers.
The Commander of the Air Force of the Israeli Occupation Army, Amikam Norkin, received his Emirati counterpart at the Palmachim Air Base.
The French press agency quoted Amir Lazar, head of operations for the Israeli Air Force, as saying that the exercises “do not focus on Iran”, although it represents the first strategic threat to “Israel” and is at the heart of many of its military plans.
Lazar pointed out that there are more than 70 combat aircraft; Among them are the “Mirage 2000”, “Rafale” and “F-16”, and the participation of 1,500 people in the training; Which makes it the biggest training ever in Tel Aviv.
He described the visit of the UAE Air Force Commander as “very important”, expressing his hope “to host the UAE Air Force” in the future.
It is noteworthy that “Israel” has been conducting “Blue Flag” exercises every two years since 2013 in the Negev desert, and among its objectives is to synchronize different types of aircraft used by different countries to confront armed drones and other threats.
It is noteworthy that the UAE concluded an agreement to normalize its relations with “Israel” in mid-September 2020, and then signed dozens of agreements with it in various fields, amid widespread Arab and Islamic anger.
