Representative of the Syrian opposition delegation, co-chair of the Constitutional Committee Hadi Al-Bahra
The representative of the Syrian opposition delegation, the co-chair of the Constitutional Committee Hadi al-Bahra, said during a press conference on Friday, that we must find a quick solution by all means to end the Syrian crisis.
He stated that 4 basic principles were put forward in the constitution, which were discussed over a period of four days, and we allocated the fifth day for discussions.
He explained that the delegates were supposed to present papers of understanding or compromise after the discussions that took place over 4 days.
Hadi Al-Bahra added that the Syrian government delegation did not present any consensus paper during the current round, noting that the government delegation insisted that it did not see any point of consensus regarding it.
He stated that to reach results, the three parties must be present and have the desire to reach understandings.
He stressed that any solution other than a political solution through the implementation of Security Council Resolution 2254 will lead to prolonging the suffering of the Syrians.
He said that it requires mobilizing greater international will for the actual implementation of supporting the Syrian cause, indicating that the main part of the problem is the constitution.
And he added, “The Geneva platform is the only international platform for a solution in Syria.”
