Italian security sources told “Aki” that the mooring of the immigration boats on the coast of the Sicilian island of Lampedusa is continuing non-stop.

The sources added that 131 migrants arrived during the night through three different docking operations, as the first small boat carrying 53 people from Bangladesh, Egypt, Morocco, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Eritrea was intercepted by the Malian police.

And she continued: “In the meantime, two other groups of migrants managed to evade control controls and dock independently, as 14 Syrians arrived at the Madonnina dock, including a minor, who were traveling on a captured boat.”

The security sources stated that “64 others also arrived in the Gulf of Cala Croce (south of Lampedusa), including 14 women and 5 minors,” noting that “all the migrants, after conducting the initial health screening on them, have arranged their transfer to the hot spot in the Imbriacola region.”
