America reopens the border with Canada
From “early November”, the United States is scheduled to open its land borders with Mexico and Canada to travelers who are immune to Covid-19 and who wish to travel for reasons deemed unnecessary, according to Agence France-Presse, a senior White House official said, Tuesday.
The official said that the US administration will announce “very soon the exact date” of opening its land and air borders to non-essential international flights for vaccinated travelers.
The official confirmed that the land and air borders will be opened “simultaneously”.
On September 20, the United States announced that, starting from the beginning of November, it will open its air borders to all vaccinated travelers against Covid-19, lifting the restrictions imposed since March 2020 on international flights.
With regard to the opening of the land borders, the official said that the matter will take place in two stages: the first, in which vaccination will be a condition for non-essential trips, while necessary trips will remain permitted according to the conditions in force since the borders were closed, and the second will start “in early January 2022 and the vaccine will become a necessary condition.” For any trip to the United States whether necessary or not.
