Jordanian astronomer Imad Mujahid suggested that the Earth will soon be exposed to a strong solar storm that will cause a major disruption in communications, Internet networks, satellite communications and solar panels that are used in homes.
In statements to the Jordanian newspaper, Al-Ghad, Mujahid explained today that the solar storm is ejecta from the sun in the form of energy-charged particles and invisible rays that hit the Earth at specific intervals that have been observed.
He stressed that indications of a solar storm with huge effects appeared clearly during the month of September, and sunspots were observed on the surface of the sun indicating the imminence of the storm.
He added that the destructive or huge solar storm occurs approximately every 100 years and is expected to occur between 2024 and 2025 AD, noting that it is difficult to determine the location of the solar storm except 13 hours before it occurs.
Activists on social media had circulated talk of a devastating solar storm that might hit Earth soon.
