The Brazilian Ministry of Health said it recorded 17,893 new cases of coronavirus and 530 deaths from COVID-19 on Wednesday.
The total number of deaths from COVID-19 in Brazil reached 599,359.
On Wednesday, the Mexican Ministry of Health announced the registration of 7,697 new confirmed cases of the Corona virus and 713 deaths, which brings the total official number of infections in the country to 3,699,621 cases and deaths to 280,607 since the beginning of the pandemic.
The government has previously said the true number of infections is likely to be much higher.
For its part, the National Health Commission of China said Thursday that the mainland recorded 25 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, compared to 26 the day before.
The committee stated in a statement that all the new infections were imported from abroad.
She added that 11 asymptomatic cases were monitored, as China does not classify these cases as confirmed infections.
Currently, the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in mainland China is 96,335, while the number of deaths remains stable at 4,636.
In Russia, 27,550 new cases of Covid-19 disease were announced Thursday, the highest number of daily infections recorded this year, amid a wave of outbreaks that prompted officials to urge people to receive vaccinations.
The government task force to combat the Corona virus said that it recorded 924 deaths related to Covid-19 during the past 24 hours, approaching the highest daily death toll recorded since the beginning of the pandemic.
In India, on Thursday, the Ministry of Health announced 22,431 new cases of coronavirus and 318 deaths from Covid-19 during the past 24 hours.
The ministry said the total number of infections in India reached 33.89 million, and deaths 449,856.
