US court sentences student to life imprisonment for burning a mosque

A US court has sentenced student John Earnest to life in prison, without the possibility of parole, after he pleaded guilty to the killing of one person and wounding three in the shooting at a synagogue in California.

John Earnest (22 years) pleaded guilty to the charge of murder and attempted murder, and to the charge of deliberately burning a place of worship, in agreement with the local public prosecutor, and avoided facing the death penalty.

It should be noted that Ernst opened fire on a synagogue in northern San Diego in April 2019, killing a 60-year-old woman and wounding 3 others, including the rabbi.

According to US authorities, Ernst Roge posted an anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim statement on the Internet minutes before his attack on the temple.
