On Thursday evening, Mali’s Defense Minister, Colonel Sadio Camara, received four military helicopters from Russia, praising the “credibility and seriousness” of this partner, who “has always responded to us.”

“We are here this evening to receive four Mi-171 helicopters, weapons and ammunition,” the colonel said in a video verified by AFP. Russia has donated arms and ammunition. The four new helicopters, as you can see, were all purchased from the country’s budget.”

The Minister of Defense indicated that this came “in implementation of a contract that was signed in December 2020, and entered into force in June 2021,” stressing that “the maximum speed in implementing this contract shows the credibility and seriousness of this partner who has always responded to our needs in the framework of an exchange benefit” between the two sides.
