The leader of the “Sadr movement”, Muqtada al-Sadr, said in a statement on social media that “the Iraqi elections are an internal affair, and neighboring countries and others should not interfere in the internal affairs, neither by carrots nor intimidation, otherwise we will treat them in the future the same.”

Early parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in Iraq, on October 10, 2021, when the voting process will take place in 1,079 polling stations throughout Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. The Independent High Electoral Commission indicated that the number of people who are entitled to participate and vote in the upcoming elections is 24 million 29,927 people.
