Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian condemns the enemy government’s reception of Lapid and considers it a betrayal of the aspirations of the Palestinian people and will only bring insecurity to the region.
The Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, denounced the Bahraini government’s reception of the visit of the Israeli foreign minister, Yair Lapid, to its capital, Manama, and considered this reception “a flagrant betrayal of the aspirations of the oppressed and resistant Palestinian people.”
He stressed that the Islamic Republic “knows only one country, its name is Palestine, and its capital is Jerusalem.” He also considered that the Bahraini government’s relations with Tel Aviv “bring nothing but insecurity to the region and to Bahrain.”
The plane carrying Minister Lapid landed at Manama airport on Thursday morning, and a Gulf Air plane took off on the first flight between the two sides today.
Angry popular demonstrations denouncing normalization also erupted, coinciding with Lapid’s arrival in the capital, Manama. On social media, Bahrainis launched an angry campaign against the visit, with hashtags such as: Bahrain_rejects_Zionists and Bahrainis_against_normalization on these platforms.
