Migrants leave the collective housing in the village of Bozhaninovo in the Moscow region
The authorities in the city of Sergiev Posad, on the outskirts of Moscow, announced the closure of collective housing for foreign workers in one of the villages of the region, after a gathering of local residents, during which they demanded its closure.
And the municipality of Sergiev Posad published a statement on its channel in “Telegram”, saying that “the migrants are leaving the collective housing in the village of Bozhaninovo,” noting that the housing will be closed on the orders of Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov.
The Russian Investigative Committee reported last Sunday that the body of a 67-year-old woman bearing signs of violent death was found in a forest near the city of Sergiev Posad. The hot pursuit operation resulted in the arrest of two suspects, both citizens of Tajikistan, and charged with rape and murder.
Residents of the village of Bozhaninovo organized a rally demanding the closure of the collective housing in their village, where immigrants who work in a local factory live.
The investigative committee announced that it would investigate the legality of the suspects’ stay in Russia to issue a legal assessment of the response of the relevant personnel to the matter.
