The United States of America has imposed the toughest sanctions on Iran in recent years, especially after Washington withdrew from the nuclear agreement, which prompted Iran to reduce its commitments imposed under it, not to yield to these sanctions and to refuse to submit to American dictates.
According to Russia Today, Iran commented today on the new US decision by which the US Treasury imposed sanctions on 4 Iranian citizens, saying that the sanctions were on a fictitious basis.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said: “Washington has no way other than to address its addiction to sanctions, and to respect Tehran in deed and word.”
He added, “The current US authorities, unfortunately, are taking the same path as the previous administration, which leads to failure,” noting that “sanctions supporters in the United States saw that the sanctions toolkit was empty because of the maximum resistance from Iran, and this time they resorted to Hollywood scenarios, They are trying to preserve the life that was robbed of the sanctions atmosphere.”
It should be noted that on Friday, the US Treasury imposed sanctions on 4 people linked to Iranian intelligence, for allegedly carrying out a failed plot to kidnap an American journalist and human rights activist.
