Today, Saturday, our correspondent in Iraq reported that a fire broke out in the Iraqi “largest ship” in the ports of Basra Governorate in the south of the country.
An RT reporter stated that a fire broke out in the drilling ship “Umm Qasr”, which is considered the largest of Iraq’s ships of this type.
For his part, the former Iraqi Minister of Transport, Kazem Finjan Al-Hamami, said in a press statement, “The giant drilling ship (Umm Qasr), was exposed to a huge fire that broke out in the crew’s housing sector, and then spread through the corridors and floors.”
He added, “Initial reports indicate that the fire was due to negligence that overwhelmed most of the departments of this prestigious company.”
Al-Hamami pointed out that “reports state that the price of this ship exceeds 65 million dollars.”
