The management of the International Theater Festival for Youth of the South signed, on Tuesday evening, a cooperation protocol with Luxor University, which will witness the holding of the activities of the sixth session of the festival from February 23 to 28.
Dr. Mohamed Mahgoub Azzouz, President of Luxor University, said that the protocol comes within the framework of the President’s declaration of 2022 as the year of civil society, and the role it plays in spreading awareness in Egyptian society, especially that the protocol aims to establish a number of events and training workshops to support the talents of university students And spreading cultural awareness in various artistic and cultural fields, through the activities and events held by the festival, allowing the talented students of Luxor University to obtain experiences through training and exposure to different cultures.
Azzouz added that the South Theater Festival was able to achieve great success during the past years through its support and discovery of artistic talents in all governorates of Upper Egypt and its sponsorship in an integrated manner, as well as its presentation of artistic events in villages, hamlets and hospitals, which contributed significantly to reshaping awareness among the people.
Art critic Haitham El-Hawary, president of the festival, and president of the African Theatrical Union, said that during the coming period, artistic talents from university students will be established and trained to be a nucleus for the establishment of various theater and artistic teams in all university faculties, as well as the opportunity for university teams to participate in international festivals.
