Al-Arabiya channel presented a report on NASA’s readiness to launch a “suicide” spacecraft to collide with an asteroid before it reaches Earth’s orbit, with the aim of deviating it slightly from its current path.

The report indicated that the spacecraft will target the asteroid “Demor Voss”, which is the moon that orbits the asteroid Didymos.

The report indicated that the NASA mission, which it called “DART” or “Asteroid Redirection Test”, which will be launched on November 23 from California to collide with the asteroid on September 22, 2022, which is the ideal time for the collision to occur.

The European Space Agency said during the report that the diameter of Dimorphos is 160 meters, which is about the same width as the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, and is large enough to destroy an entire city if it hit the Earth.
