The hashtag # Girls_Concert_Dangerous was issued on social media in Saudi Arabia, after rumors spread that girls and women had been kidnapped after canceling the Korean band Stray Kids’ concert in Riyadh on Friday evening.
Some girls claimed, through the hashtag #ConcertGirls_, that some young men might kidnap a number of women after the cancellation of the Stray Kids concert in Riyadh, which was scheduled to be held by the Korean “Stry Kids” band on Boulevard Plus due to heavy rain.
Young women tweeters were accused of spraying dangerous substances on women and harassing them, taking advantage of the confusion and trying to leave the place due to the rain. They claimed that there were cases of missing girls in the place, which led to the spread of panic after news of the kidnapping of a number of girls.
For his part, a source for the newspaper “Saudi Post” denied this news and said, “There is no truth to what was circulated on social media about cases of harassment that took place at a concert that was postponed before it started in Riyadh due to circumstances beyond our control.”
The source warned anyone who spreads these rumors that reduce the efforts of the security forces, and they will be subject to prosecution and legal accountability.
The hashtag #Daughters_Concert_Danger sparked widespread anger among the Saudis, and bloggers accused hostile parties of defaming the Kingdom, and one of them wrote, “They defame Saudi Arabia and show that those in it are savages, the plot of the enemies of Saudi Arabia.”
