Half a year after he was fatally injured in a lynching in Acre, Elad Barzilai was released today from the Levinstein Rehabilitation Hospital.

Barzilai, who was nearly killed by Arab rioters in Acre, was miraculously saved in the early days of the Wall Guard by the ambulance crew who evacuated him during resuscitation to a hospital in Nahariya. He underwent a series of head surgeries that saved his life.

Miraculously he was able to recover, began to walk and talk with difficulty, and was released shortly afterwards for rehabilitation. A head operation restored part of his broken skull in the attack, and he is now walking with his wife Yael on his feet from the rehabilitation hospital for further treatment at his home.
