A Saudi passenger plane collides with a “winch” at Cairo Airport… and the extent of the damages revealed

Al-Marsad newspaper: A Saudi Airlines plane, while on the take-off runway at Cairo International Airport, collided with one of the cranes on the airport grounds.
According to the Egyptian “Akhbar Al-Youm” portal, after passengers boarded the Saudi Airlines plane at Cairo International Airport, Flight 313 bound for Riyadh, and after completing all procedures and preparations for take-off, the plane crashed into one of the ground services cranes on the runway.
The source added that the collision caused severe damage to the plane’s wing and lights, which necessitated the cancellation of the flight and the plane’s entry into maintenance for repair, and investigations were opened to find out the causes of the collision.
The sources pointed out that the Saudi Airlines plane that collided was an Airbus A330-300, registered letters HZ – AQ1, carrying passengers bound for Riyadh, in addition to 6 crew members.
