Saudi “Competition” approves “Almarai” acquisition of Binghatti Beverages

The General Authority for Competition in Saudi Arabia announced today that it has no objection to completing the process of Almarai Company’s acquisition of all stakes in Binghatti Beverage Industry.

The authority said in a statement today that it has studied the beverage bottling market to determine whether there are any concerns about competition, and the study concluded that it is not expected to have a negative impact on competition.

She stated that what supported her decision not to change the market shares of the establishments operating in the beverage bottling market in the Kingdom is that the acquisition process will be in a factory in the United Arab Emirates only, in addition to the fact that the beverage bottling market enjoys the presence of a large number of companies.

It is noteworthy that the General Authority for Competition has issued approval for 117 economic concentration operations in several sectors since the beginning of this year.
