Al-Marsad newspaper: Russian nutritionist Artyom Leonov revealed that nuts become harmful to the body if they are not soaked before eating them.
In an interview with the Russian RIA Novosti news agency, the expert points out that walnuts, almonds, pistachios and cashews are useful for the body to replenish energy and improve the work of the heart and blood vessels. But it is harmful to the body if not used correctly.
“Nuts contain many micro-minerals, dietary fiber and proteins,” he says. But at the same time they contain substances that inhibit the activity of enzymes. And all the beneficial substances in it are inactive, because they are limited by natural preservatives, so they do not bring any benefit to the body. But water neutralizes these natural preservatives. So when nuts are soaked in water, all the nutrients in them return to the active state for the body to benefit from.”
He adds, nuts become more useful when soaking them in water for 6-8 hours before eating them, “at which point the power of nature stored in them can be obtained.”
