Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN)— After the appointment of Lieutenant-General Osama Ahmed Rushdi Abdullah Askar, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, by a decision issued by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, we review his biography with 11 points, according to Al-Ahram Gate:
1- Born in Dakahlia Governorate in 1957
2- He graduated from batch No. 70 of the Military College
3- He received a master’s degree in military sciences and a fellowship at the Nasser Higher Military Academy
4- He was included in all leadership positions in the infantry corps until the position of division commander and then head of the operations branch of the Armed Forces Operations Authority
5- He holds a fellowship at the Higher War College at Nasser Higher Military Academy, and the Senior Commanders Course from the Higher War College
6- He rose to leadership positions in the infantry corps until he reached the commander of a mechanized infantry division
7- He worked as head of the Operations Branch of the Armed Forces Operations Authority
8- He took over as chief of staff of the Third Field Army.
9- He assumed the position of command of the Third Field Army
10- He took the position of commander of the Third Field Army
11- Commander of the East Canal region and the fight against terrorism, then the Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces for Sinai Development Affairs.
