Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The UAE summoned the Lebanese ambassador to it against the background of old statements by the Lebanese Minister of Information, George Kordahi, on Wednesday, considering them as “arguments” that indicate Lebanon’s growing distance from the Arab countries.

In a statement, the UAE Foreign Ministry expressed its “strong condemnation and disapproval of these disgraceful and biased statements made by George Kordahi, Minister of Information of the Lebanese Republic,” as it put it.

The ministry added in its statement, saying that these statements “offended the countries of the coalition to support legitimacy in Yemen,” as it said.

The UAE Foreign Ministry summoned the Lebanese ambassador to it and informed him of its “protest and denunciation of these statements, which are polemics that contradict diplomatic norms and the history of Lebanon’s relations with the countries of the Arab coalition to support legitimacy in Yemen, and reflect Lebanon’s growing distance from its Arab brothers,” according to the UAE news agency WAM.
