On Wednesday, Saudi Prince Abdul Rahman bin Musaed bin Abdulaziz published a video clip in which the Lebanese Minister of Information, George Kordahi, spoke about Lebanon’s interest and the interference of countries and ambassadors in its internal affairs.

The Saudi prince said: “A statement that lacks the ‘stressful’ music that made him famous. As for that you are looking for Lebanon’s interest, this does not need proof.”

Abdul Rahman bin Musaed bin Abdulaziz added: “We see what Lebanon has achieved economically and its development in all fields, especially electricity and depositors’ money, and this is due to the keenness of Lebanon’s governments (recently) and its ministers like you for its interest.

In the clip published by the Saudi prince, Qardahi stated that he “puts Lebanon’s interest above all interests.”

The Lebanese Minister of Information stressed that Lebanon should not remain subject to blackmail from countries, ambassadors and individuals, as they dictate to them who should remain in the government and who should not remain, concluding his statements by saying: Aren’t we a sovereign country?

Statements by Lebanese Minister of Information George Kordahi before taking over the media portfolio appeared on Tuesday regarding Yemen, Saudi Arabia and the ongoing war.

The Lebanese Minister of Information, George Kordahi, said that “what he said about the Yemen war was not a party to it, but he said it as a friend,” stressing that “he is against the Arab-Arab war and has never attacked or insulted Saudi Arabia and the UAE.”

In his statements after the meeting of the National Media Council, Qardahi said: “What I said about the Yemen war, I was not a party to it, but I said it as a friend. I am against the Arab-Arab war, and I have never attacked and never insulted Saudi Arabia and the UAE. I consider it my second country.”

He continued, “It is not permissible for anyone to dictate to us what should be done about whether or not a minister remains in the government,” adding: “When someone asks me to resign, I tell him that today I am part of a tight government and I cannot take a decision alone.”

And Qardahi continued: “I did not sin against anyone in order to apologize.”

Qardahi explained that “the episode that sparked controversy recently, was filmed on the fifth of last August, that is, before his appointment as a minister.”
