ABU DHABI, 27th October / WAM / As part of the National Program for Programmers, Abu Dhabi University announced the launch of the first cycle of the annual programming competition for science, technology, engineering and mathematics, which will be held virtually tomorrow.

The competition is inspired by a number of challenges it poses to students from Expo 2020 Dubai, where teams compete to find solutions to ten challenges in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics using any of the programming languages ​​and develop the system for implementing these solutions in a way that reflects positively on society.

The university invited students from various disciplines and state school students in grades 7 to 12 to participate in the competition and seize the opportunity to enhance their programming skills.

Participants in the competition will receive participation certificates in addition to appreciation rewards for the first three places.

Dr. Hamdi Al Shaibani, Dean of the College of Engineering at the university, said: Abu Dhabi University is proud to participate in this initiative of the National Program for Programmers launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to contribute to qualifying a distinguished generation in the fields of technology. For his part, Professor Mohamed Ghazal, Professor and Head of the Department of Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering, said: This competition is part of a series of activities and initiatives organized by the College of Engineering at Abu Dhabi University as part of its commitment to preparing future generations of programmers.

Abu Dhabi University was chosen from among 8 national universities for the National Program for Programmers, in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Relevancy used in various sectors.

As part of its “Invest in Our Community” initiative, Abu Dhabi University recently offered a coding training course to more than 1,800 people from 300 schools, universities and companies in more than 50 countries around the world.

It provided the participants with the opportunity to develop the basic programming skills needed to develop applications, as part of the National Program for Programmers.

Abu Dhabi University offers several programs focusing on programming skills, including Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering, Information Technology Engineering, Cyber ​​Security Engineering, Computer Engineering with a Specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Electrical Engineering with a Specialization in Robotics and Automation, in addition to a Master of Science in Information Technology and a Master of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

These programs aim to prepare and qualify future graduates to take up various career opportunities in the fields of computer technology.
