Santa Fe County District Attorney Mary Carmack Altoise confirmed that the investigation into the killing of photographer Galina Hutchins by a bullet fired by famous American actor Alec Baldwin may result in criminal charges.
“We are not ruling out anything. At this point anything is possible, including criminal charges,” The New York Times quoted Altwise as saying.
“There are no words to express my shock and sadness at the tragic accident that took the life of Galina Hutchins (Rust’s director of photography), a wife and mother who was so admired among our colleagues,” he wrote.
Baldwin stressed that he is fully cooperating with the police investigation aimed at finding out how the tragedy occurred, noting that he is in contact with the victim’s husband and has offered support to him and his family.
And he continued, “My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and everyone who knew and loved Galina.”
Hutchins was fatally injured when Baldwin shot her with a pistol that was supposed to have been loaded with bullets, and film director Joel Sousa was also injured in the accident.
