DUBAI, 25th October / WAM / The “Digital Transformation Leadership Committee for the Emirate of Dubai” held its first meeting with the aim of discussing the emirate’s digital trends, setting the features of the next phase of cooperation, setting priorities and uniting efforts in order to implement plans and strategies for digital transformation in the Emirate of Dubai.
In their first meeting, the members of the committee discussed activating the items contained in the decision to form the committee, which includes, among other things, ensuring the integration of roles between government agencies related to digital transformation and supporting the vision of transforming the emirate into a complete digital society.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, launched the committee this October to add to Dubai’s efforts in creating a digital future based on the use of the latest technologies and building on the accumulation of previous successes in the context of the digital transformation process.
The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Hamad Al Mansouri, Director General of the Dubai Digital Authority, and included Eman Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Senior Director of the Dubai Model Center in the General Secretariat of the Executive Council, Huda Hamdan Al Sheikh, Executive Director of the Corporate Services Sector in the Department of Finance, and Mohammed Yousef Al Mudareb, Executive Director of the Institutional Technical Support Services Sector at the Roads Authority and Transportation, along with Brigadier Khaled Al Marzouqi, Director of the General Department of Artificial Intelligence at the Dubai Police General Headquarters, Colonel Eng. Hussain bin Ghalita, Deputy Director of the General Department for Smart Applications Affairs at the Dubai Police General Command, Ahmed Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of the Institutional Support Services Sector at the Dubai Health Authority, and Engineer Maryam Obaid Al Muhairi, Director Executive Director of the Engineering and Planning Sector at Dubai Municipality, Eng. Marwan Bin Haider, Executive Vice President – Innovation and the Future at Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, and Abdullah Hassan, Executive Director of Institutional Support Sector at the Department of Economic Development.
The meeting was also attended by Juma Al Ghaith, Executive Director of the Customs Development Sector at the Dubai Customs Department, Raed Kahil, Executive Director of Information Technology at the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Lt. Colonel Khaled Ahmed bin Madinah, Deputy Assistant Director for Services at the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, and Muhammad Al-Badwawi, Executive Director of the Corporate Support Sector. At the Land Department and Abdul Rahim Hussain Ahli, Executive Director of the Institutional Support Sector for Dubai Courts.
During the meeting, His Excellency Hamad Al-Mansoori expressed his thanks to the committee members and their authorities, who showed great cooperation in order to unify plans and strategies and align them with the general plan for digital transformation, which in all reflects the vision of the wise leadership in making Dubai a global digital capital.
Al-Mansoori said: This meeting constitutes an important station on the path to the full implementation of the aspirations of our leadership towards a complete digital life, and today we are setting the future in front of us and formulating it according to what we envision for our society and for future generations, based on a track record of achievements in which the members of the Digital Transformation Committee and other government partners participated. Expressing confidence in the success of the mission and achieving the goals within its time frame, based on the support of leadership, team spirit and high government competencies.
The Director General of the Dubai Digital Authority stressed that Dubai always exceeds expectations, and its achievements do not stop, and the future is for those who plan for it and own its keys.
We in the Digital Transformation Committee believe in the comprehensiveness and integration of work in innovation and building a future based on the tools of the Fourth Industrial Revolution..
