Reactivating the memorandum of understanding between Egypt and Lebanon?

Minister of Energy and Water Walid Fayyad is participating in the activities of the Cairo Water Week, which is being organized under the auspices of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

During his visit, Fayyad met with the Egyptian Minister of Water Resources and it was agreed to reactivate the Memorandum of Understanding that was signed in 2010 between Egypt and Lebanon and included cooperation in the fields of research, management and exchange of experiences in the water sector.

In his intervention on Sky News Arabia, Fayyad stressed that it is necessary to take care of financing investment projects for water networks and associated infrastructure in our Arab region.

He added, “All Arab countries are under the water scarcity level estimated at about 1,000 cubic meters per year.”
