Sharjah Islamic is one of the first banks in the UAE to adopt this innovative application, which is in line with the digital transformation strategy, and provides better ways to communicate due to the simplicity and smoothness of the digital wallet in sharing information securely while maintaining privacy, and enabling employees to update their personal data and add many other data. As direct links such as e-mail, applications and social networking sites of the bank, which is not provided by “paper identification cards”.

Hassan Al-Balgouni, Director of Corporate Communications Department at Sharjah Islamic Bank, confirmed that the “digital wallet” gives employees greater flexibility in saving, searching and sharing data, and reduces the time wasted in searching for contact information. The digital wallet relies on Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, which is a wireless communication technology to transfer personal data directly via the mobile phone, and it also allows the ability to transfer data via barcode reading as an option and an additional feature.”

This contributes to protecting the environment and natural resources by reducing the use of paper and ink and reducing waste, in addition to enhancing public health and safety thanks to the dispensation of materials that can be a fertile environment for pollution, as well as reducing contact and limiting the chances of the spread of the Corona virus, which maintains the safety of staff and customers.

Ahmed Wasfi, founder and CEO of Oz Technology, confirmed his happiness with this first-of-its-kind cooperation with a bank in the UAE, and pointed out that the digital wallet is distinguished by the fact that it allows maintaining a comprehensive and password-secured set of communication and identity information, coordinating and sharing it with others, which facilitates communication. between the bank and its clients and partners.
