Sixteen companies from 14 countries from different continents of the world are competing in the third edition of the 2021 FIFA World Cup for Companies, which is organized by Hi-Five Sports Events under the supervision of the International Federation of Corporate Football (FIFCO) and in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council on the stadiums of Dubai Sports City .
The semi-final matches will be held tomorrow, followed by the third-place match that will be held before the final. The participating teams were divided into 4 groups. The first group includes PwC from the UAE, Galacticos from Nigeria, Synergy from Ireland and Monaco, while The second group includes the Chalhoub Company from the UAE, the Wamogo Company from Canada, the Pando Company from Bangladesh, and ECWB from Morocco.
The third group includes BMU from Mali, Vitol from Switzerland, Rafsanjan from Iran, and SAP from Saudi Arabia, while the fourth group includes Remaya from Saudi Arabia, and Corporate Football England from the United Kingdom. Sunidi Company from Tunisia, and Neutral Fuels Company from Lebanon.
Albert Zbeli, President of the International Federation of Corporate Football (FIFCO), said: “We are pleased to organize the tournament for the first time in Dubai, which has become one of the most preferred cities for athletes in the world due to its modern and diverse sports and tourism facilities, as well as the development of transportation and shopping centers. The entertainment and all facilities that help the success of the tournament, to be the first time that the tournament is held in the Middle East, after the previous two editions were held in Montreal, Canada in 2018, and in Monaco in 2019.”
The Corporate World Cup is the first corporate football tournament in the world, available to member countries of FIFCO, and the tournament is held annually in a different place to give members the opportunity to meet, have fun and discover a new location, and Mexico won the title of the first edition of the tournament that was held In Montreal, while Iran won the title of the second edition, which was held in Monaco.
