US forensic experts have confirmed that the human remains found in Florida belong to Brian Laundry, the fugitive fiancé of Gabriel Pettito, who died in mysterious circumstances, the FBI said.
The identification, made on the basis of dental data, comes to the conclusion of a mysterious story that the whole of America has been pursuing for more than a month.
“A comparison of dental records has confirmed that the human remains … belong to Brian Laundry,” the Denver FBI said in a statement.
Laundry’s parents had previously told police that he might be on a nature reserve near his Florida home. The search continued for more than a month.
The remains, along with Landry’s backpack and laptop, were found at a nature reserve in Florida, in an area that until recently was hidden by water.
Experts have not yet determined the cause of the young man’s death.
Previously, law enforcement authorities in the United States had found the remains that match the description of 22-year-old Gabriel Pettito.
His fiancée Pettito disappeared during a car trip with him, who returned to his home in Florida, refused to answer questions about his girlfriend’s fate and later disappeared.
