Within the framework of the activities of the year of humanitarian cooperation between Egypt and Russia, the Russian Cultural Center (the Russian House) in Cairo is organizing a concert for the folklore troupe of the Russian Air Force landing forces, “The Blue Berets”, at seven in the evening, Sunday, October 24, at the Tchaikovsky Theater at the center’s headquarters in Dokki.

The Blue Berets were founded in 1937 and musicians performed in the front rows from Stalingrad to Berlin, and in 1945 the band entered Berlin and held a concert on the steps of the Reichstag to celebrate the victory, and in subsequent years the band toured many cities in Germany, the Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia and Poland Hungary and other European countries.

In 1994 the troupe, which received the Lenin Youth Prize and the German Arts Prize, was transferred from Germany, and now they give more than 100 concerts annually throughout Russia and abroad.

The program of the concert includes the presentation of several songs, including (Al-Watan, Mother and Eternity, Evening on the Road, Al-Safina and the Quiet Sky) and others within the framework of a musical show.

For his part, Marat Gatin, Director of the Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, expressed his happiness to begin his work in his new position with this grand celebration, which will allow the Egyptian public to get acquainted with one of the most important Russian military teams with an honorable history.
