Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State, headed the UAE delegation to the Conference to Support the Stability of Libya, which was held in the Libyan capital, “Tripoli”, with the participation of foreign ministers and senior officials from a number of countries in the world and regional and international organizations.

Al-Marar welcomed the action plan signed by the Joint Military Committee 5/+5/ under the auspices of the United Nations regarding the gradual, parallel and sequential withdrawal of forces, foreign fighters and mercenaries from Libya, explaining that this matter will support the consolidation of the ceasefire and the unification of Libyan institutions.

He also expressed the UAE’s standing and solidarity with the Government of National Unity and the brotherly Libyan people, and the state’s aspiration to build effectively and positively on the achievements made so far with the efforts of the government and relevant Libyan institutions, with the support and backing of the international community and the United Nations.

Al-Marar called for unifying international efforts to enable the brotherly Libyan people, the Government of National Unity, the Libyan Military Committee /5+5/ and all relevant Libyan institutions to achieve the transitional phase.

He also thanked the Government of National Unity for its efforts in organizing this international conference in the Libyan capital, Tripoli. (wam)
