Meirav Ben-Ari explained this morning the words of her party chairman Yair Lapid in his speech in memory of Rabin in which he attacked “the ideological descendants of Yigal Amir”, she said, the incitement did come from the same camp and it was not just Amir who murdered the prime minister
This morning (Thursday), MK Merav Ben-Ari of the Yesh Atid party referred to the remarks of her party chairman, Yair Lapid, during a speech in memory of Yitzhak Rabin in the Knesset plenum, in which he called the Knesset members of the Religious Zionist Party “Yigal Amir’s ideological descendants.”
During an interview with the GLC, Ben-Ari said, “This incident of coming and saying that Yigal Amir murdered the prime minister alone is not true. Anyone who has looked at the period knows that this is the same incitement that comes from the same camp, and from here Yair brought his own things. He is not the only one who talked about it, they talked about it being a time of incitement. ”
“It’s disturbing, because you hear the same things today. Of course you can keep a more subtle wording, but listen to what we are dealing with,” MK Ben-Ari said.
“I was in the coalition for four years, there should be no such event. It will not happen in our shift. This incitement has a price, we see what happens online and see where the discourse deteriorates. There is a clear finger here where this incitement comes from. I was horrified, I was shocked. “This, what is this hatred about? It’s shocking,” she added.
In her remarks, Ben-Ari referred to a confrontation that took place last night in the plenum, when MK Miri Regev of the Likud called MK Ram Ben-Barak Mish Atid “an oppressor of Israel”: “She said that we shouted, we resented, it’s just a scandal. I have not seen anything like that that a former minister calls the deputy head of the Mossad who hates Israel.”
“Bereaved brother, fighter in the General Staff patrol. Where does such a thing sound? When does this incitement end? I told him to calm down he went to Miri Regev and my uncle Amsalem who would leave the bereaved families out of bounds. She accused him of hating bereaved families. He is a bereaved brother himself. “
