Hundreds of Lebanese were exposed to an “online” scam, where the “binancesfund” website for cryptocurrencies illusioned them with the possibility of making profits starting from 1% to 3% per day, in addition to 10% for each person who markets the site.
According to the “mtv” channel, the amount that was installed amounts to more than 125 million dollars, as the site relied on paying the largest number of users at the beginning of the project before it was revealed.
After checking the credibility of the site, it was found that it started work on April 7, 2021, while it states that it started in 2015. It also shows that its rating is less than 1%, and it is also banned on Twitter.
For its part, the Binance platform explained on its social media page, “Binance recently learned about the scam called Binancesfund and confirms that Binancesfund is not connected in any way to the Binance platform. We do not tolerate at all in dealing with the transactions of Binance. This impersonation is something we take very seriously.”
“We do not rule out taking the necessary steps to protect our reputation and take legal action against those responsible and prosecute them to the fullest extent permitted by law. We would like to express our deepest sympathy to anyone who has been harmed by this, and we would like to take this opportunity and remind everyone of the importance of taking steps,” she added. It is appropriate to protect themselves in cyberspace. We advise everyone to research in depth any investment opportunity presented to them by others, whether in the field of cryptocurrencies or traditional assets.”
