Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Saudi Ministry of Education announced, on Tuesday, the postponement of the attendance return for male and female students under 12 years old, which was scheduled for October 31.

The ministry said, in a statement via its Twitter account, that the postponement will be “until the scientific studies related to the epidemiological risks to this category are completed, in order to preserve their safety and the safety of their families,” without mentioning a specific date of return.

The ministry confirmed that it will continue its efforts to provide distance education for this age group, through the “My School” platform for the primary stage, and the “Rawdati” platform for the kindergarten stage.

She pointed to the integration of efforts between the ministries of education and health in the regularity of the educational process for middle and secondary students who completed receiving two doses of the “Corona” vaccine, and the implementation of the precautionary measures and health protocols approved by “Prevention”, which contributed to the protection of male and female students and maintaining their safety. .

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Health announced, earlier on Tuesday, that 49 confirmed cases had been recorded, 38 cases had recovered, and the number of critical cases was 90, and indicated that the total number of injuries in the Kingdom reached 54,818 cases, and the number of recovery cases was 53,037, while two deaths were recorded, bringing the The total number of deaths in the Kingdom reached 8,767.
