The US Air Force Command in Europe and Africa announced that two US B-1B Lancer strategic bombers have flown over the Black Sea.
The command said in a statement that the two planes from the squadron deployed at the “Farford” air base in Britain carried out an “anti-ship mission in the Black Sea region” during joint exercises with “European partners and allies”.
The statement added that Turkish KC-135 aircraft refueled the two American bombers during the flight.
He pointed out that the two bombers carried out their tasks in cooperation with the fighters of the Romanian, Polish and Canadian forces participating in the NATO mission to monitor Romania’s airspace.
The United States had deployed 4 B-1B Lancer strategic bombers at the “Farford” base in Britain earlier this October. These bombers carried out overflights in Lithuania, near the Russian border.
