Frank Verbeek, Secretary General of the Library, valued the visit of Sheikha Dr. Shamma bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, expressing his appreciation for her intellectual and cultural giving, and her interest in learning about libraries and everything related to sources of knowledge.

Sheikha Dr. Shamma bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan toured the library, which contains more than 1.3 million books and visual sources of knowledge, as well as some precious books and manuscripts dating back to the seventeenth century.

She got acquainted with the library’s departments, including the Arabic language section, which is concerned with knowledge products in the Arabic language.

During the meeting, it was agreed on joint cooperation between Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan’s cultural and educational institutions represented by the Future Ajyal Library and the Amsterdam Central Library represented by the section devoted to children in the field of reading development for children and the exchange of experiences and initiatives that work on this goal and in support of cultural exchange and acquaintance between the two societies .
