Books – Nashat Ali:

Diaa Rashwan, head of the State Information Service, said that Egypt has 1,200 foreign correspondents, explaining that all of them are dear colleagues, not enemies or spies, and they are all treated accordingly.

This came during a meeting of the Foreign Relations Committee in the House of Representatives, headed by Representative Karim Darwish, who stressed at the beginning of the meeting the importance of the files that the State Information Service is working on, pointing out that the authority plays a tangible role that no one can deny at all.

He continued, “We are an organized authority, not a commanding authority, and we do not deviate from the rules regulating the work of the foreign press in all democratic countries.”

Rashwan pointed out that the authority deals professionally with foreign media and its correspondents in Egypt, adding: “We have nothing to hide or be ashamed of, and we do not fear the other opinion.”

He continued: “I wish all officials and official bodies to cooperate with all local and foreign media, because you should not leave behind an empty place in the media, because enemies will fill it.”
