As the fourth wave continues to fade, Israel reached a dismal milestone tonight (Monday) as it crossed the 8,000-mark threshold from Corona since the onset of the plague. According to updated data from the Ministry of Health, 8,010 people have died from it since the virus began to spread in Israel.
The number of corona patients who have died every day for the past two years has increased as the morbidity wave has become more severe. The daily peak of deaths was in the third wave, so at the peak 76 people died in one day. In the second wave, too, a relatively high number of corona patients died every day – so the peak was 47. In the fourth wave, largely due to the vaccines, the death toll per day was lower – about 36 dead.
As mentioned, the fourth wave continues to fade. 495 people are currently hospitalized in Israel, 357 of them in critical condition – well below the capacity threshold. The rate of positives is also declining. Yesterday, 1,209 people were diagnosed with the virus, the rate of positive tests – 1.45%. There are currently 17,536 verified viruses in Israel.
