His Excellency Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, an Emirati delegation to visit the Sultanate of Oman, with the participation of a number of government agencies and private sector companies.

This visit comes within the fraternal and strategic relations with the Sultanate of Oman, and to explore opportunities for joint cooperation between the two brotherly countries, and to expand partnership horizons at all levels, governmental and private, especially in the sectors of industry, advanced technology, quality infrastructure and others.

His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber conveyed the greetings of the wise leadership in the UAE to the leadership in the Sultanate of Oman, stressing the depth of the brotherly relations between the two brotherly countries, based on close historical ties, cooperation, integration and the development of common interests, which were laid down by the founding father, the late God willing, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, and the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said, and it continues to grow and progress, under the wise leaderships of the two brotherly countries.

He also expressed his pride in the level of relations between the two brotherly countries, and the common aspiration to enhance cooperation in the fields of industry and advanced technology. He said that the UAE, thanks to the vision and directives of the wise leadership, is moving confidently towards strengthening the industrial and advanced technology sector supported by research and development, and stimulating its capabilities and efficiency, through the concepts of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

He also indicated that cooperation and integration with the Sultanate of Oman comes within the framework of enhancing promising economic and investment opportunities between the two countries, indicating that cooperation will focus during the coming period on developing investment opportunities and facilitating procedures for investors in both countries.

Sultan Al-Jaber and the accompanying delegation were received by Qais bin Muhammad Al-Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Dr. Saleh bin Saeed Al-Masn, Undersecretary for Trade and Industry, and a number of officials in the government and private sectors.

Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef stressed the importance of developing relations with the sisterly UAE, especially in the economic fields, and focusing on the industrial aspects.

He pointed out that the visit reflects the two sides’ interest in exchanging views, on how to take advantage of the capabilities, experiences and facilities available to each side, to raise the level of joint work, to expand the partnership between private business sector activities, in light of the multiplicity and diversity of investment opportunities, which can be translated into feasible economic projects. and contribute to the achievement of common interests.

The delegation included Omar Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, Mohammed Al Shamsi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Company, Khaled Salmeen, CEO of ADNOC, Jassim Thabet, CEO of TAQA, and a number of executives from Abu Dhabi Holding and Mubadala.

The Sultanate of Oman is among the UAE’s 10 most important trading partners, with a trade exchange of 172 billion dirhams from 2017 to 2020, which represents about 2.7% of the UAE’s total foreign trade during this period, with a compound annual growth rate of about 5.7% (an average of 43 billion dirhams).
