In a related context, the coalition confirmed that the Houthi militia’s losses in the Abdiya district of Marib governorate exceeded 165 dead, and 10 military vehicles were destroyed during the past hours. The coalition said in a statement that it had carried out 41 “targeting operations” that led to the destruction of 10 rebel military vehicles and “human losses of more than 165 terrorist elements” in Abdiya, about 100 km south of the city of Marib, which the Houthis have been trying to control for months. Since then, the battles have left hundreds of people dead on both sides, and displaced more than 55,000 people from their homes since the beginning of this year, according to the United Nations International Organization for Migration (IOM) on Thursday.
This comes as the Yemeni army announced the renewal of battles in the southern front of the Marib governorate, and the outbreak of violent confrontations in the areas of Al-Juba and Mala’a, with the support of coalition aircraft, targeting Houthi militia sites; Where the coalition aircraft destroyed an armored vehicle and heavy weapons in the Aqaba area of ​​the coup militias, which suffered heavy losses during the battles. In conjunction with the intensification of the battles on the fronts, the management of the camps for the displaced called on the international organizations to provide the necessary needs for the displaced from those areas.
And field sources reported that the Houthi militia is carrying out a massive campaign of arrests against civilians in the Abdiya district in Marib. The sources added that the militias arrested wounded and children, and blew up houses. In addition, the sources indicated that the battles intensified in the southern front of the Marib Governorate. She also confirmed the unprecedented escalation of the wave of displacement from several villages in the district in addition to its center, pointing out that the Yemeni army forces are responding to other attacks on 18 villages in the district, south of Marib.
The Yemeni Minister of Information, Muammar Al-Eryani, warned against the militias committing brutal crimes against the residents of Al-Abdiyyah. Quoting local sources, he confirmed that the Houthi militia had committed field executions, liquidating the wounded, and bombing government buildings and homes. He added in a series of tweets that the militias looted shops and hospital equipment, after storming the center of the district on its outskirts, and continuing the siege and bombardment of 18 villages.
On the other hand, the Governor of Hadhramaut, Major General Faraj Al-Bahsani, revealed that his intelligence and security forces thwarted a terrorist plot to destroy vital facilities, including the Central Bank branch. Major General Al-Bahsani, who is also the commander of the second military region, said in a video clip, “The intelligence and security services arrested a terrorist cell consisting of five members led by a first-class terrorist leader.” Al-Bahsani pointed out that the terrorist leader provided “dangerous information”, indicating that there are “terrorist elements’ plans to destroy vital and important facilities such as the (headquarters) of the Central Bank, the headquarters of the security and police, and to target military bases and the headquarters of the local authority.”
The governor of Hadhramaut confirmed that the competent authorities “will take decisive and deterrent measures against these groups that want to harm Hadramawt.”
