At GITEX 2021, the Department of Education and Knowledge in Abu Dhabi will showcase the smart licensing system, which enables kindergartens, private schools and educational partnership schools to submit requests for new services, and to follow up and manage requests related to licenses.
The system employs optical character recognition technology, which contributes to enhancing operations, ensuring the highest levels of efficiency and speedy delivery of services.
Amer Al Hammadi, Undersecretary of the Department of Education and Knowledge, said: “Our participation in GITEX Global is an ideal opportunity to showcase our continuous efforts to harness advanced technological solutions to promote transformation and innovation in various aspects of the educational sector. With Abu Dhabi’s broader digital agenda, and its four pillars, represented in government services, government solutions, data and artificial intelligence, and enabling the system.”
During its participation in the GITEX exhibition, the department is displaying the services index, which is a unique digital portal dedicated to supporting the beneficiaries of the department’s services, such as parents, schools and partners in the sector.
The automated system, which provides access to all department services and their management, ensures the transparency of operations through a central list of internal and external services provided by the various departments, directing users to solutions and channels appropriate to their requirements and needs.
The department will continue its participation in the exhibition, within the framework of the Abu Dhabi government pavilion, with a special speech delivered by the Chief Technology Officer at 42 Abu Dhabi School of Programming, Marcus Muller Habig, on the 19th of October.
In his speech, Muller addresses the innovative peer education methodology in the school that receives students without tuition fees, as well as the flexible educational paths adopted in the school, based on practical projects, designed to enhance the skills of innovation, cooperation and self-discipline among students.
