Iran talks about the relationship with Saudi Arabia: We want friendly relations with Egypt and Morocco

An official in the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced that the improvement of our relations with Saudi Arabia in the future will reflect positively on our relations with a large number of Gulf countries and North Africa.
The Director General of the Middle East and North Africa Department in the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Mir Masoud Hosseinian, explained that some countries in the region, such as Egypt, Sudan, Morocco and others, cut their relations with us after the estrangement that occurred between us and the Saudis.
He added, “Our relationship with Egypt will definitely improve if our talks with Saudi Arabia succeed. We are making efforts to improve the relationship with Cairo, and we also aspire to have friendly relations with Morocco, which took the initiative to sever the relationship with us for baseless reasons.”
There were reports of signs of improvement in relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran, cut off for more than 5 years, but normalization of relations needs more work to ease tensions.
