The Russian energy company “Tatneft” said in a statement today, Friday, that it has resumed geological exploration in Libya, with the stability of the situation in this North African country.

The company said in the statement, that it had resumed work in wells that had suspended drilling work due to force majeure.

Earlier, the assistant general manager of “Tatneft” for corporate finance affairs, Vasily Mozgovoy, announced that the Russian company had resumed work in some areas in Libya.

He pointed out that “Tatneft” company plans to establish a joint venture with the Libyan National Corporation.

In turn, the director of the “Tatneft” company, Nael Maganov, confirmed earlier that the company is ready to resume oil production in Libya.

The Russian company, “Tatneft”, had worked in Libya under a concession agreement from 2005 to 2014, and had stopped due to the military actions that the country was witnessing at that time.
