The Heliopolis Association, headed by Dr. Nabil Helmy, is organizing an exhibition of paintings and sculptures inspired by the ancient Egyptian civilization throughout its eras with a touch of the present, entitled “Contemporary Egyptology”, which reviews the heritage of the ancestors at the Future Library, one of the cultural platforms of the Heliopolis Association, today, Saturday at three in the afternoon.
The exhibition is implemented by male and female students of the Art Education Department, Faculty of Specific Education, Ain Shams University.
The exhibition aims at consolidating the Egyptian identity and historical culture among young people, reminding the new generations and urging them to preserve the folklore in all its components.
For his part, Dr. Nabil Helmy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Heliopolis Society, said that the civilized and popular heritage of the society is the main source that nourishes the national awareness of peoples, hence the interest in reviving the heritage of the fathers and grandfathers. The past years have contributed to the preservation and transmission of folklore through various activities across generations on the one hand, and publicizing it in local, Arab and international forums on the other.
The exhibition is held under the auspices of the Heliopolis Society and inaugurated by Dr. Nabil Helmy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Heliopolis Society, Dr. Siham El Gohary, Vice President of the Society, Dr. Hayat Khattab, Secretary General of the Society, Eng. Fouad Adly, Director of the Future Library, and Dr. Osama El Sayed Mustafa, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education at Ain Shams University.
The opening ceremony will be witnessed by members of the association’s board of directors, Dr. Walaa Anis, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Mustafa Kadry, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Amr Khalil, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Noha Mustafa Adalaziz, Head of the Art Education Department, and the exhibition is under the supervision of Dr. Nermin Khairy Ibrahim, a teacher of art works at the college, and Monica Reda Youssef, a teacher of art works.
