The exchange rate of the lira was recorded yesterday, Friday, between 20300 and 20350 Lebanese pounds to one dollar.
The crisis in Lebanon
The situation on the ground in Lebanon calmed down on Friday after a round of violence that extended for hours in the Tayouneh area, which resulted in the deaths of 7 people and a large number of injuries.
The Lebanese army carried out a wide spread in the area of the clashes and distributed the elements at all the entrances supporting it, and the identification papers of the passersby were checked.
The head of the General Authority for Relief, Major General Muhammad Khair, accompanied by a delegation from the authority, toured the region to count the damages in an attempt to compensate those affected.
The preliminary investigations conducted by the security services into the incidents, under the supervision of the acting government commissioner to the military court, Judge Fadi Akiki, and in coordination with the Discriminatory Public Prosecutor, Judge Ghassan Oweidat, resulted in the arrest of 19 people who were proven to be involved in the armed clash, which resulted in casualties.
On Thursday, Beirut witnessed one of the fiercest security confrontations in years, in a dangerous escalation that threatens to plunge the country into a new crisis, just over a month after the formation of a government that is supposed to focus its work on developing a plan to get the country out of the cycle of economic collapse that has controlled it for more than two years.
The clashes have resulted in the killing of 7 people so far, including three members of Hezbollah, one of whom died on Friday of his injury, and 3 members of the Amal movement, in addition to a woman who was shot in the head while she was in her home, and 32 other people were wounded.

The Lebanese banks set the price of 3850 pounds to the dollar, when withdrawing the dollar to small depositors, and this has been going on for a while, and it has been in effect until today.

On the other hand, the Syndicate of Money Changers in Lebanon confirmed the pricing of the dollar exchange rate against the Lebanese pound, with a moving margin between the price of 3850 pounds for purchase, and 3900 pounds for sale, as a maximum.
Central Bank of Lebanon
The exchange rate of the dollar in the Central Bank of Lebanon remained at 1507.5 pounds per dollar, and it is allocated to some basic commodities only.
Lebanon has been under the weight of a severe financial crisis since late 2019, and since then, the local currency has lost about 90% of its value, the poverty rate has increased, and the banking system has been paralyzed.
Since the country descended into a major financial crisis in 2019, the hard currency in Lebanon has evaporated, and those with US dollar accounts were only able to make withdrawals in Lebanese pounds, according to an exchange rate of 3900 pounds to the dollar.
