Saudi Arabia: Iran’s nuclear activities are a grave danger to the region

Today, Friday, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan stressed that Iran is accelerating its nuclear activities and is entering the region at a very dangerous stage, amid efforts to return Tehran to the nuclear agreement signed in 2015.

He added in a press conference held in Washington during his visit to the United States and talked about many issues, including regional developments, that the talks between Saudi Arabia and Iran were friendly, but they did not achieve tangible progress.

This came after the Foreign Minister described the ongoing talks with the Iranian side as exploratory, serious and friendly, explaining in an interview with the “Financial Times” newspaper, Friday, that Riyadh is keen to achieve stability.

“We are serious about the talks,” he said. “It is not a big shift for us. We have always said that we want to find a way to achieve stability in the region.”

“positive ambiance”

It is noteworthy that the Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, praised earlier the dialogue that was launched between his country and the Kingdom, stressing that the atmosphere is positive.

He also stressed in previous statements that the ongoing dialogue between the two parties is “constructive and moving in the right direction.” He stressed that it is in the interest of both countries and the region in general.

In addition, during his visit to Moscow last week, he said that his country is ready to resume relations with the Kingdom, and today it is awaiting Riyadh’s position.

In turn, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Saeed Khatibzadeh, indicated earlier this month that talks between Tehran and Riyadh are in the best condition, and efforts are continuing to start sustainable relations according to frameworks acceptable to both sides.
