The average price of the dollar at the Central Bank of Egypt was about 15.66 pounds for purchase, and 15.75 pounds for sale.

According to a survey conducted by “Al-Ain News” for prices in 29 banks, the average dollar amounted to about 15.66 pounds for purchase, and 15.76 pounds for sale.

The highest price for the dollar came at 15.68 pounds for purchase, and 15.76 pounds for sale, in 4 banks, namely the Arab Investment Bank, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Arab Investment Bank, and Al-Ahly of Kuwait.

The price of 15.66 pounds for purchase, and 15.76 pounds for sale, dominated the dollar’s ​​transactions in 14 banks, including Commercial International, Credit Agricole, Cairo, Mashreq, Arab African, HSBC, Bloom Egypt, Audi, and Al-Masry Al-Khaleeji.

The price of the dollar in Al-Ahly Bank and Egypt recorded 15.64 pounds for purchase, and 15.74 pounds for sale, which is the lowest price for the dollar in Egypt.

The Central Bank of Egypt said in a statement on Thursday that the current account deficit widened to $18.4 billion in the 2020-21 fiscal year from $11.2 billion in the previous year, as tourism revenues plunged about 50 percent.

The bank added that tourism revenues fell 50.7 percent to $4.9 billion over the fiscal year as the coronavirus pandemic reduced international travel, down from $9.9 billion in 2019-20.

Egypt’s foreign exchange reserves continue the upward journey that began since June 2020, bypassing the repercussions of the Corona pandemic.

According to data from the Central Bank of Egypt, Egypt’s net foreign exchange reserves rose to about 40.825 billion dollars last September, for the 16th month in a row.

And last August, foreign exchange reserves recorded about 40.672 billion dollars, while they recorded 40.609 billion dollars last July.

Foreign exchange reserves have been rising since June 2020, after they fell to about $36 billion from more than $45.5 billion due to the impact of the Corona virus pandemic.

Euro and British pound rates

The average price of the European euro, at the Central Bank of Egypt, settled at about 18.16 pounds for purchase and 18.28 pounds for sale.

The average price of the pound sterling at the Central Bank of Egypt remained stable at about 21.47 pounds for purchase, and 21.61 pounds for sale.

The prices of the riyal, dirham and dinar

The average price of the Saudi riyal, at the Central Bank of Egypt, settled at 4.17 pounds for purchase, and 4.20 pounds for sale.

The average price of the UAE dirham, in the Central Bank of Egypt, remained stable at 4.26 pounds for purchase, and 4.29 pounds for sale.

While the average price of the Kuwaiti dinar in the Central Bank of Egypt recorded about 51.82 pounds for purchase and 52.28 pounds for sale, which are the same prices as yesterday.
