Fortunately, a woman in British Columbia, Canada, was not injured when a meteor fell through her bedroom ceiling.
The New York Times Report Ruth Hamilton, 66, was soundly asleep on the night of October 3, and when she woke up to the sound of crashes and barking, she realized she was covered in dry debris.
After a while, she found a hole in her bedroom ceiling and called 911 thinking that a tree might have fallen on her house.
But while talking on the phone with the operator, she noticed a rock the size of a man’s fist between her pillow.

“Oh my gosh,” he told the operator, according to the Times. “There’s a rock in my bed.”
The officer who arrived at the scene may have come from a nearby construction site where the boulder had previously exploded for work on the highway. But the officer decided there was no explosion that night. The officer correctly assumed that the 2.8 pounds of rock came from space.
According to The Times, the researchers confirmed that the rock was actually a meteorite from an asteroid and others in the area noticed seeing two roaring bombs and a fireball flying in the sky.
“It sounds surreal,” Hamilton told The Times. “Then I go inside and look at the room. Yes, there is another hole in my roof. Yes, it did.”
Millions of meteors travel through the Earth’s atmosphere every day, but most are small and quickly burn up in the atmosphere, while a few fall to Earth.
