The only player to join the PSG squad last summer who has yet to play a minute is Sergio Ramos, and it looks like the brakeman will have to keep waiting for his debut. According to a report by the French “RMC”, Ramos’ knee injury turns out to be more serious than they knew in Paris at the signing, and some claim it was a cartilage injury, which was reportedly the reason he did not get a contract extension at Real Madrid.
The ex-Blancos has suffered many injuries in his last season at Blancos, and it seems that the current knee injury will force Mauricio Pochitino to wait some more time until he gets the 35-year-old star. In an interview before the national team games, the Argentine coach said that there is still uncertainty about Ramos: “We do not have a specific return date, Ramos is currently working, and we are assessing his condition on a daily basis.”
Apart from Ramos, PSG will be missing some of its South American players, who will be available to their teams in the World Cup qualifiers. Andrew Prades, Angel Di Maria and Lionel Messi are expected to play for Argentina against Peru, Marcinius and Neymar will take part in Brazil’s match against Uruguay, and Kaylor Navas will be on the Costa Rica squad to face the United States.
